Offering Support to the USA Dressage Team- In More Ways Than One

Team Bar One: When preparing for the 2012 Olympics, the USA Dressage team knew what was best for the comfort of their horses. Choosing to use riding pads made with authentic Bowron Sheepskin was the saddle pad of choice for these Olympic riders (pictured is a saddle pad created for Adrienne Lyle and her horse, Wizard).

A properly made saddle pad should allow for even air circulation in every direction, resulting in accelerated heat dispersion and moisture. Bowron Sheepskins contain a property that helps to regulate body temperature. It absorbs moisture such as perspiration from the body and releases it back into the air. The material’s quality enables a horse's body to have better air circulation and a more even body temperature. This design gives riding pads an added benefit to horses by reducing heat with faster cooling to help increase performance. The properties of Bowon Sheepskin offered support in more ways than one by adding comfort and enhancing the performance of these amazing Olympians!

Bowron have available stocks of Cane, Walnut and Coffee coloured Table Grade footwear for immediate delivery. These skins are produced  following our traditional syntan chrome process resulting in a leather with good stand and a soft handle.

Welcome to the World!

Congratulations to BJ and Cynthia on the arrival of young Grayson. Victor is very proud of his young brother and Mum is taking a leave of absence from Bowron to acclimatise Grayson to the world.

Cynthia is the first Mum in the world to trial Bowron's chrome free Babycare, with a brand new robust tannage offering a wash performance equal to Bowron's famous medical Fleecease used widely in elderley care residences and Hospitals around the world.

The tanning design of this new Babyfleece will allow frequent laundering.

June 2012 - Bowron's 130 year old tannery in Christchurch, is covered in this winter's snow storm presenting a picture perfect postcard scene. Bowron Sheepskins is a world leading tannery, it survived recent earthquakes and continues to manufacture beautiful rugs and home soft furnishings. Like no other tannery in the world, Bowron prides itself in producing eco friendly products.

Our long time in-house Designer has moved on to greater things and we wish him all the best at University of Canterbury. Brian Carney amongst other things, was responsible for the Baroque Range of designer Rugs and re-branding implementation. A big welcome to Vicki Parker into the Bowron family. Vicki brings with her extensive design experience with some iconic New Zealand companies. We are sure she is going to fit right in.
